FIELD: metallurgy. ^ SUBSTANCE: according to procedure for comparative evaluation of steel resistance to biological corrosion samples of tested steel are held in biologically active medium for not less, than 24 hours. Further, the samples with bio-film formed on their surface are placed into a fixing solution. The samples are successively washed, dehydrated, dried, and sputtered with carbon; surface of samples is studied with an electron microscope and amount of cells adhered on surface is counted. Also density of bio-film is determined as amount of cells adhered per unit of area; resistance of tested steel to biological corrosion is evaluated on base of this parametre and with consideration of cells morphology, characteristics of their growth and development. ^ EFFECT: facilitating express evaluation of resistance of various steel grades and control over quality of items operating in corrosive medium and subject to biological corrosion; rating wide assortment of steel in short time. ^ 1 tbl, 2 dwg |
