PURPOSE: A lens array device and an image display device are provided to easily obtain the lens effect property different from the lens effect property of a single variable lens array. CONSTITUTION: A variable lens array(3) comprises a plurality of variable lenses. The variable lens has electrically adjustable refractive power. A fixed lens array(4) comprises a plurality of fixed lenses. A fixed lens is provided in response to a plurality of variable lenses. The refractive power of the fixed lens negates the refractive power of the variable lens.
