TWO-DIMENSIONAL POLYNOMIAL MODEL FOR DEPTH ESTIMATION BASED ON TWO-PICTURE MATCHING

PURPOSE: A two-dimensional polynomial model for depth estimation based on two-picture matching is provided to estimate the distance to a subject by responding to the matching an image. CONSTITUTION: An image apparatus(12) adjusts the focus from the minimum focus distance(14) to the infinity(16). The focus is collected to a first focus position(18) along a focal path(24). The focus is collected to a second focus position(20) from a calibration target(22), and plural object images are captured in programming. A detected blur difference between object images is inputted to a focus matching model. In response to the performance of depth estimation for the object images, a focus control element is automatically adjusted.
