PURPOSE: A break time error compensating method of an electric power system protective relay is provided to increase the safety and the reliability of an electric power system by rapidly decreasing the propagation of an accident of the electric power system. CONSTITUTION: An offset of a breaker operating time is set(S101). An instantaneous operation or a time delayed operation is determined during the malfunctioning state of an electric power system(S102). The offset of the breaker operating time is reflected(S103). The offset of the breaker operating time is reflected(S104). The electric power system protective relay is initialized(S105). The measurement data of the electric power system is detected(S106).
