PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a floor material which is superior in sound insulation performance and prevents generation of defects, such as warp and waviness, due to moisture derived from a concrete slab. SOLUTION: The floor material has a decorative layer 1, a substrate layer 2 formed with a plurality of grooves 2c on its back surface, a sound insulating layer 3, and a moisture proof layer 4. A relation between the number of the grooves 2c formed on the back surface of the substrate layer 2 and the moisture permeability of the moisture proof layer 4 satisfies the equation: N×W≤200. In the equation, N represents the number of the grooves 2c on the back surface of the substrate layer 2 per 0.9 m length [(0.9 m)<SP>-1</SP>], and W represents the moisture permeability of the moisture proof layer 4 measured based on JIS Z0208 [g/(m<SP>2</SP>×24 h)].
