PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pantograph height measuring device and a calibration method for the device, which enable easy calibration in measurement of the height of a pantograph. SOLUTION: The pantograph height measuring device analyzes an image photographed by a line sensor 20 installed on the roof of a vehicle 10 with a processing computer 30, and measures the height of the pantograph 10a of the vehicle 10 while traveling. The device is so configured that a marker 40 is provided on an end surface of the pantograph 10a, the marker 40 is photographed by the line sensor 20 at each respective height of the pantograph 10a whose height is changed to a plurality of stages, and the processing computer 30 finds a relational expression between the positions on images of the marker 40 obtained from the images photographed by the line sensor 20 and actual heights of the marker 40.
