PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a matrix display device capable of reducing loss of electric power. SOLUTION: The matrix display device controls a display state of each pixel by driving a plurality of address electrodes in a scan driving circuit per line based on display data and carries out discharge by applying AC voltage among a plurality of first discharge-maintaining electrodes and a plurality of second discharge-maintaining electrodes having capacity load corresponding to each display pixel in a period of light emitting for display. The matrix display device has a first discharge-maintaining electrode-driving circuit and a second discharge-maintaining electrode-driving circuit for recovering electric power by an LC resonance circuit by using an inductor for the capacity load when driving AC voltage of the first and second discharge-maintaining electrodes. The scan driving circuit selects the first discharge electrode per line during address scan operation and functions as the first discharge-maintaining electrode-driving circuit for recovering electric power of the first discharge electrode during discharge maintaining operation.
