Disclosed is a two-pronged body holding device used to protect against an attacker by reliably holding the arms and legs of the attacker. The two-pronged body holding device is comprised of a holding portion provided at one end of an operating rod and a locking portion provided in the operating rod. In the holding portion, a pair of griping members having curved inner surfaces are pivotably attached to a supporting member secured to the front end of a sliding bar slidably inserted into the operating rod and swinging plates. The swinging plates are pivotably attached to a supporting element in which the sliding bar is slidably inserted. The locking portion is comprised of a rack-type engaging portion having sawtooth-like protrusions formed in a sliding member secured to the sliding bar, and a locking part having a locking piece engaged with the rack-type engaging portion. The rack-type engaging portion and the locking piece slide the sliding member only toward the rear end of the operating rod, so that the paired griping members are closed when the supporting member is moved backwardly. |
