<p>Disclosed is a glass fiber reinforced polyamide resin composition which is obtained by melting and kneading a mixture wherein 30-70 parts by weight of glass fiber bundles (C), which are composed of flat cross-section glass fibers having a flatness degree of 1.5-8 and an ignition loss at 625°C for 0.5 hr of not more than 0.8% by weight, is added to 25-50 parts by weight of a polyamide resin (A) and 2-20 parts by weight of a phosphorus flame retardant (B) which is not red phosphorus. The glass fiber reinforced polyamide resin composition is characterized in that the polyamide resin contains a polycaproamide resin (a1) and/or a crystalline polyamide resin (a2) having a melting point higher than that of the polycaproamide resin (a1) by 20°C or more, and an amorphous polyamide resin (a3) having an aromatic component at a weight ratio ((a1) and/or (a2))/(a3) of from 90/10 to 35/65, and that a polyamide-reactive silane coupling agent (D) is added into the mixture in an amount of 0.1-1.0% by weight of the glass fiber bundles (C) during the melt-kneading process. In spite of usage of a non-halogen flame retardant, the polyamide resin composition can have both high impact resistance characteristics and high flame retardancy, while achieving excellent productivity.</p> |
