PURPOSE: An audio signal processing method and apparatus are provided to prevent the distortion of sound quality by displaying guide lines or limits about panning and gain control on a user interface. CONSTITUTION: An audio signal processing method is as follows. A down mix signal including objects and a bit stream including object information and down mix gain information are received(S810). Level guide flag information about all frames, which indicates whether level guide information exists in the bit stream, is acquired(S815). The level guide information indicating the limit of object level applied to at least one of the objects is obtained from the bit stream based on the level guide flag information(S825,S840). Mix information is received(S830,S845). Transformed mix information is obtained by transforming the mix information based on the level guide information and the down mix gain information(S835,S850). One or more of down mix processing information and multichannel information are created based on the transformed mix information and object information(S855). |
