<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a playback apparatus which assures the stereoscopic vision of graphics at random access. <P>SOLUTION: In the playback apparatus, each of a left view graphics stream and a right view graphics stream, which are included in a digital stream received from a signal distributing apparatus, includes one or more display sets (hereafter called as DSs). Each DS is a data group used in the display of graphics objects of one picture. One or more DSs included in the left view graphics stream correspond to one or more DSs included in the right view graphics stream on one-to-one basis. To the correspondent DSs which correspond to each other, the same playback time is established on the playback-time axis of a video stream. The DS includes state information which indicates whether the DS contains all necessary data for displaying the graphics objects of one picture or the DS contains difference from the preceding DS.
