<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a light distribution pattern P1 for low beams and a light distribution pattern P2 for overhead sign irradiation. <P>SOLUTION: This projector type vehicular headlight 10 has a reflector 2 having an elliptic reflecting surface 2a reflecting light from a light source 1; a projection lens 3 projecting light from the elliptic reflecting surface 2a; a shade 4 having an edge portion 4a forming a cut line P1L at the upper edge of the light distribution pattern P1; and a lens holder 5 connecting the reflector 2 to the projection lens 3. The reflector 2, the projection lens 3, the shade 4 and the lens holder 5 are formed as one solid light transmitting member 6 using a light transmitting material. A bottom face 5a1a of a recess 5a1 of an upper side surface 5a of the lens holder 5 is disposed so that light from the light source 1 is totally reflected by the bottom face 5a1a, and a lower side surface 5b of the lens holder 5 is disposed so that light from the bottom face 5a1a is totally reflected by the lower side surface 5b.
