A base station apparatus determines which the user equipment should use for communication, a subframe bundling mode (second mode) or a non-bundling mode (first mode). The base station apparatus then provides the notification of a determination result. In the first mode, the RTT interval is a first interval, and the signal transmission and retransmission each are performed every one TTI. In the second mode, the RTT interval is a second interval that is longer than the first interval, and the signal transmission and retransmission each are performed every plural number of TTIs. The wireless resources for retransmission are decided by use of a first frequency hopping pattern in the first mode and by use of a second frequency hopping pattern, which is different from the first frequency hopping pattern, in the second mode.
