<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of air-cooling a plurality of racks having front faces and back faces. <P>SOLUTION: A modular data center includes: a plurality of racks 18, each having a front face and a back face, and are arranged in a first row 32 and a second row 34, wherein the back faces of the racks 18 of the first row 32 face the back faces of the racks 18 of the second row 34, and air is received through the front faces of the racks 18, and air is emitted through the back faces of the racks 18; a plurality of cooling units 16 arranged in either the first row 32 or the second row 34, wherein air is sucked through the back faces of the cooling units 16, and the cooled air is supplied through the front faces of the cooling units 16 to the front faces of the plurality of racks 18; and an enclosure for collecting air released from the plurality of racks 18, a portion of which is configured of the first row 32 and the second row 34. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
