<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an on-vehicle equipment control system capable of suppressing a consumed electric current, while making it harder to be affected by elements obstructing communication such as interference electric waves. <P>SOLUTION: Intercommunication which a portable machine 200 returns a response signal answering to a request signal sent by a vehicle side unit 100 mounted on a vehicle is carried out to check the portable machine 200. According to the checked result of the checking, the on-vehicle equipment is controlled. An ECU110 (CPU111) of the vehicle side unit 100 determines whether it is a periodic timing t (check timing) or not, and if it is determined as the periodic timing, checking outside a vehicle cabin is carried out (S10-S11).
