<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To conduct a precise inspection before assembling an electrophotographic photoreceptor to a drum unit for performing efficient production. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing an electrophotographic photoreceptor unit includes a step of installing an edge part engagement member having a shaft or a bearing part to the edge of a cylindrical electrophotographic photoreceptor. In this method, the cylindrical electrophotographic photoreceptor is turned around the rotation axis L<SB>1</SB>to measure the eccentricity of two points of a generating line, and a rotation axis L<SB>2</SB>given in installation to an electrophotographic device is computed. Then, potential data measured while turning the electrophotographic photoreceptor around the rotation axis L<SB>1</SB>is corrected to that to be measured when being turned around the rotation axis L<SB>2</SB>, and it is determined whether the corrected potential data are within a predetermined range or not. The edge part engagement member is installed to the electrophotographic photoreceptor with potential data determined to be within the predetermined range, and the shaft or the bearing part of the edge part engagement member is processed into a circular shape having the center axis matching the rotation axis L<SB>2</SB>, thereby manufacturing the electrophotographic photoreceptor unit.
