PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a rotary electric machine in which effects of displacement of claw-like magnetic poles due to a centrifugal force are eliminated, the centrifugal force acting on permanent magnets is received by magnet protecting covers welded to yokes or magnet pedestal members and which stably holds the permanent magnets for a long period of time with a simple magnet holding structure without excessively enhancing the accuracy of machining the permanent magnets and the yokes. SOLUTION: First/second permanent magnets 30, 35 are respectively covered with each cap-like fitting part of first/second magnet protecting covers 31, 36 and arranged while their lower surfaces are brought close to first/second claw fork parts between first/second claw-like magnetic poles of first/second yokes 19, 23. Each mounting arm extending from each cap-like fitting part of the first/second magnet protecting covers 31, 36 is fixed to axial both end faces of the first/second yokes 19, 23 by welding.
