PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that the filter characteristics corresponding to the spectrum profile cannot be attained when the spectrum profile of a transmission signal changes arbitrarily, and thereby the transmission signal subjected to peak factor reduction generates unnecessary spectrum in the sub-carrier region which is not used for communication. SOLUTION: The coefficients of a filter which filters an impulse signal being given to a main signal in order to limit the amplitude are generated from a spectrum mask which is obtained from the FFT results of the transmission signal. As a result, when the frequency arrangement of the transmission signal changes, the frequency mask and the filter coefficients are generated to follow up the change. Consequently, generation of unnecessary spectrum in the region where there is no carrier placement can be prevented. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
