The invention relates to decorative strips and encasement panels utilizing sanded or polished natural stone as a robust and low-maintenance surface material. Such panels may be thinner than 4 mm or thinner than 3 mm, down to 1 mm and thinner, are self-supporting, and become mechanically stable and flexible by means of prestressing. Subsequently, said panels are either bent in a self-supporting manner, or attached to objects and walls to be encased as encasement panels. |
