<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video recording system capable of performing immediate video recording through simple operation from an image receiving device side. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The invention relates to an image receiving and video recording system 100 constituted of an image receiving device 200 and a video recording device 300, wherein a switch disposed on an image receiving device body 201 or on a remote controller 202 is pressed, so that a storage device 313 of the video recording device 300 immediately records a program being viewed on a display section 212 of the image receiving device 200. In that case, a control means controls the video recording device 300 to prohibit overwrite on a video recording region for a program subsequent to pressing of the switch.
