<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens driving device, whose shape is substantially quadrangular when viewed from the optical axis direction of a lens, miniaturized even when the diameter of a lens to be mounted is made larger. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The lens driving device 1 formed substantially like a square pole includes: a mover 2 holding a lens and movable in the optical axis direction; and a driving mechanism 4 for driving the mover 2. The driving mechanism 4 includes: driving magnet parts 17 shaped substantially like a triangle pole and disposed at four corners of the lens driving device 1; a driving coil 18 wound substantially like a triangular cylinder and disposed with the inner peripheral surface thereof opposite to the outer peripheral surface of the driving magnet part 17 through a predetermined gap; and a magnetic member 19 disposed to an object side from the driving coil 18. The driving magnet part 17 is magnetized to generate a magnetic flux passing through the driving coil 18 at a position opposite to the driving coil 18, and the magnetic member 19 is attracted toward the intermediate position of the driving magnet part 17 in the optical axis direction.
