PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a flashback condition in a components of a gas turbine for taking a suitable remedial action before receiving damage. SOLUTION: A method can detect a flashback condition in a fuel nozzle (104) of a combustor (106). The method includes a stage of obtaining a current acoustic pressure signal from the combustor (106), a stage of analyzing the current acoustic pressure signal to obtain current operating frequency information of the combustor (106), and a stage of indicating that the flashback condition exists based at least in part on the current operating frequency information.
