The unit has an electrically contacting piezo-element (1) with contacts guided into a low-pressure area (3). A cylindrical metal body has connection elements (9), where a pressure tight cable duct (4) is axially guided into the metal body in a parallel manner. The duct has a heat-treated glass body in an assembled condition. A welded pin or casing connection connects the connection elements with a piezo-pin. The metal body is positioned in a hollow cylindrical holder (12) adjacent to the piezo-element and comprises boreholes for receiving the piezo-pin. An independent claim is also included for a method for producing a piezo drive unit.
