NUCLEIC ACID BINDING ASSAYS

Disclosed are methods for screening compounds for the ability to interact with a nucleic acid target, assay kits useful thereof and compositions regarding same. Further disclosed are binding assays employing fluorescent label(s). The methods involve assessing the conformation of nuclei acid targets in the presence and absence of test compounds, and identifying as a ligand any test ligand that causes a measurable conformation change in nuclei acid targets. The effect of compounds on target nuclei acids conformation is assessed by measuring the fluorescence changes of a fluorescently label(s) attached hereto.
