<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-emitting diode and light-emitting diode light source, such that one side from the direction normal to a printed circuit board is generally irradiated with light, but the other side is hardly irradiated with a light, without having to change the fixing angle with respect to the printed circuit. <P>SOLUTION: A resin mold 5, sealing a light-emitting element 3, provides a convex body in which a vertex 15 located generally above the light-emitting element 3 serves as a top portion and has a reflecting plane 5a which extends from the vertex 15 to a point 16a of one skirt portion, and an emission plane 5b, which extends from the vertex 15 to a point 16b of the other skirt portion. The light emitted from the emitting element 3 toward the reflecting plane 5a is totally reflected by the reflecting plane 5a and is output from the emission plane 5b. The light emitted from the emitting element 3 toward the emission plane 5b is refracted by the emission plane 5b and is output therefrom, and as a whole, the light is emitted toward the emission plane 5b. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
