<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ground structure of cage for an optical module which has enhanced ESD resistance and will not affect the patterns of signals drawn on a printed circuit board. <P>SOLUTION: The ground structure is such that the structure includes an optical module mounted to a printed circuit board via a cage for the optical module; a face plate attached to the printed circuit board and having a cage-penetrating hole inserted by a tip of the cage for the optical module, when mounted to the printed circuit board; and a spring member which is attached to the printed circuit board and is deformed by contact with the face plate, when the face plate is attached to the printed circuit board.
