<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sliding nozzle control apparatus capable of carrying out loading and releasing of surface pressure by moving a sliding metal frame with an electric cylinder while compensating an error between a stop position during surface pressure loading and a predetermined stop position by an electric cylinder in a simple control method so as to improve stop accuracy, and also to provide a sliding nozzle apparatus using the same. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The control apparatus (sliding nozzle control apparatus) 45 for controlling a motor 25 (electric cylinder) includes: a control part 40 having a main circuit 42 being a power circuit and an operation circuit 41 for operating the electric cylinder 22; and a delay device 43 for delaying a time point at which the electric cylinder stops. A dynamic brake unit 44 that stops the motor 25 by flowing direct current to the primary circuit of the motor 25 is assembled into the main circuit 42.
