PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a timing controller for transmitting data at high speed. SOLUTION: The timing controller 100 is connected, via a common bus 309, to a plurality of data drivers 306 for driving a display panel 302. A reception interface circuit 10 receives image data GD including the luminance data of corresponding colors (RGB). A timing control section 12 controls timings for the luminance data DR, DG, and DB of the RGB colors so as to be compatible with the plurality of data drivers 306, which are transmission destination. A transmission interface circuit 14 transmits the luminance data DR, DG and DB of the corresponding colors, for which the timings are controlled by the timing control section 12, to the data drivers 306 together with a synchronization clock CLK via the common bus 309. The transmission interface circuit 14 can independently adjust the synchronization clocks CLK output to the bus 309, and the phases of the luminance data DR, DG, and DB of the corresponding colors.
