PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyalkyleneimine alkyleneoxide copolymer, which is suitably used as a builder for a detergent, a detergent, a water treatment agent, a dispersant and the like and which can exert high basic performance in the detergency, a production method thereof, and use thereof. SOLUTION: The polyalkyleneimine alkyleneoxide copolymer comprising an alkyleneimine monomer unit having polyalkyleneoxide, wherein the polyalkyleneoxide has an end structure containing at least one selected from the group consisting of: (1)-CO-R<SP>2</SP>-COOX; (2)-CH<SB>2</SB>CH(OH)-R<SP>3</SP>; (3)-CH<SB>2</SB>CH(OH)CH<SB>2</SB>-O-R<SP>4</SP>; and (4)-C(O)-NH-R<SP>5</SP>, wherein R<SP>2</SP>represents a 2-8C alkylene group, a 2-8C alkenylene group, a 6-14C arylene group or a 2-8C sulfoalkylene group; R<SP>3</SP>represents a 2-6C alkenyl group, a 6-14C aryl group, a 2-6C sulfoalkyl group or a 2-6C hydroxyalkyl group; R<SP>4</SP>represents a hydrogen atom, a 2-8C alkyl group, a 2-6C alkenyl group, a 6-14C aryl group or a 2-6C sulfoalkyl group; R<SP>5</SP>represents a 2-8C alkyl group, a 2-8C alkenyl group, a 6-14C aryl group or a 2-6C sulfoalkyl group; and X represents a hydrogen atom, an alkali metal atom, an alkaline earth metal atom, an ammonium group or an organic ammonium group.
