PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrolyte composition, an electrolyte using the same, and a production process thereof, wherein corrosion of a peripheral member and degradation in ion conductivity are less apt to occur, if used as an ion conductor of various electricochemical devices. SOLUTION: The electrolyte composition contains imidazolinium derivative, represented by general formula (I), ionic compound comprising tricyanomethide, and solvent, with alkali metal ion contained by 1,000 ppm or less and halogen ion by 500 ppm or less. (In the formula, R1, R3, R4, and R5are independent from each other and represent hydrogen or alkyl group of carbon number 1-3, and R2represents alkyl group of carbon number 1-3).
