<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the sensory quality of viewing people when replaying video data received via the network in which a band available for communication is not guaranteed. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A video replaying apparatus 100 estimates a remaining replay time period of video data stored in a replay buffer, outputs a switching position of a scene, based on information indicating the switching position of the scene received via the network, associates the video data of a compensation video with information indicating a replay time period of the video data and stores both, generates information which identifies the time for a replay means to replay the video data of the compensation video and the time period for the replay means to replay the video data of the compensation video based on the remaining replay time period and switching position of the scene, and passes the video data of the compensation video associated with the information indicating the replay time period identified by the information to the replay means. Upon reception of the video data of the compensation video, the replay means decreases the speed of reading out the video data from the replay buffer and replays the video data of the compensation video.
