The circuit has an earth supply line electrically connected with inner conductors (1) e.g. conductive paths, arranged within the circuit. A magnetic coil (3) is arranged between the inner conductors for measuring static and/or time-dependent magnetic field that is caused by the inner conductors in case of an error in the supply line. A supply error detection circuit is provided in an error detection device for providing an error signal that is derived from a signal received from the magnetic coil, where the error signal indicates the error in the supply line. An independent claim is also included for a method for detecting an error of an earth supply line.
