<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure higher interests by enhancing expectations felt for the occurrence of win. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The game machine is provided with a variable display device which variably displays a plurality of figures based on game requirements and generates a special game when the combination of the figures at the stoppage of the varying operation thereof presents a winning mode. A display result mode of a variably displaying game is decided based on random numbers read in when game balls win the starter slot and the first variation start command is transmitted at a prescribed ratio when a ready-to-win display mode is shown based on the display result mode decided while the second variation start command is transmitted in other cases. Thus, the figures are started to be varied with a time difference set for each of the variable display parts in response to the reception of any one of the first and second variation start commands and the figures at all of the variable display parts are started simultaneously to be varied in response to the reception of the other variation start command, thereby enabling the displayable control of the ready-for-win display mode regardless of the types of the variation start commands.
