<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotation angle detector the detectable angle of which is 360°, reducing an influence of leakage magnetic flux, and also reducing an influence of external magnetism. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The rotation angle detector 1 is equipped with: a rotating member 2; a magnet 3 fixed to the rotating member 2 and rotating in association with rotation of the rotating member 2; a magnetic detection package 4 provided oppositely to the magnet 3 and incorporating a magnetic detection element 4a for detecting intensity of a magnetic field of the magnet 3 as the magnet 3 rotates; a housing 5 having a first storage part 5b for storing the rotating member 2 rotatably with a partition 5f as reference and a second storage part 5d for storing the magnetic detection package 4; and a cylinder 5g made of a magnetic member rotatably supporting the rotating member 2 and also provided in the first storage part 5b, wherein the plane 4b of the magnetic detection package 4 is provided approximately in parallel to the plane 3a of the magnet 3 across the partition 5f. An end 5h of the cylinder 5g reaches the inside of the second storage part 5d beyond the partition 5f, and the magnetic detecting element 4a is positioned similarly to an end 5h or inwardly in the cylinder 5g from the end 5h.
