<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an effective treatment agent and treatment liquid for culture laver, dealing with both infections and depositions of reddish-brown microbes and Diatomeae each affecting culture laver for the purpose of the industrial stable production security for laver cultivation, capable of repelling both sundry germs such as reddish-brown microbes and miscellaneous algae such as Diatomeae without damaging laver under culture to diminish the reinfection with reddish-brown microbes and the redeposition of Diatomeae, and to provide a method for treating laver under cultivation. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The treatment agent for culture laver is such as to be prepared by compounding together itaconic acid, lactic acid and citric acid and/or malic acid in specific proportions.
