<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To promote an increase in an adiponectin value in blood through the use of a method other than oral administration. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A device 1 for promoting an increase of adiponectin in blood, which performs blood extracorporeal circulation for increasing the adiponectin value in blood, for an object group with the adiponectin value in blood of ≤4 μg/ml, includes at least: a plasma separation membrane 30 for separating blood in the extracorporeal circulation into a blood cell component including blood cells and a plasma component; and an LDL separation membrane 31 for removing LDL in the plasma component separated by the plasma separation membrane 30, wherein a difference (Y-X) between LDL permeability X (%) and albumin permeability Y (%) is ≥30%. Relation between the adiponectin value A1 in blood immediately after performing LDL removal and the adiponectin value A2 in blood on 14 days after performing the LDL removal satisfies A2/A1≥1.08.
