PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roller bearing which is excellent in lubricity between an end face of a roller and a collar surface and is high in mass producibility and low in cost in addition to a low starting torque. SOLUTION: The conical roller bearing is composed of an inner ring 1, an outer ring 2, a plurality of conical rollers 3 which are rollably arranged between the inner and outer rings 1, 2 and a retainer 4 which holds the plurality of conical rollers 3 between the inner and outer rings 1, 2 and is filled with a lubricant in the inner space of the bearing formed between the outer peripheral surface of the inner ring 1 and the inner peripheral surface of the outer ring 2. On both ends in the axial direction of the outer peripheral surface of the inner ring 1, collars 5, 5 are provided while being protruded radially outward. On a large end face 3a of the conical rollers 3 coming into slide contact with the collar 5, a number of recesses configured as an oil reservoir are formed. The recesses are formed by smoothing the projections of the irregularities formed by shot blast by grinding and leaving only the recesses. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
