Provided is a spindle motor for an optical disc drive, the spindle motor complementing loss of a function of automatically correcting a center of the spindle motor that may occur due to an excessive centrifugal force of an optical disc that is generated as the rotation speed of the spindle motor is increased. A conic outer circumferential surface of a slide cone closely contacts an inner circumferential surface of the optical disc so that a center of the optical disc and a rotational center of the spindle motor may be identical with each other. To this end, the slide cone is cup-shaped so that the slide cone may be vertically slid in the direction of the rotation shaft, and a cone yoke is installed to exert a force to push the slide cone upwards in an axial direction so that an attractive force between the yoke and a cone yoke that is a magnet or an attractive force between the cone yoke formed of a magnetic material and a clamp magnet may be used.
