<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel and improved light emitting device, capable of restraining an uneven brightness from getting large even when an LED is shifted from a normal position, and an image display. <P>SOLUTION: This light emitting device includes a plurality of light sources for emitting a light, and a light guide panel of substantially planar shape orthogonal to an optical axis direction of the light source, and constituted including a light incident face incident with the light emitted from the light source, and a light outgoing face outgoing with the light getting incident from the light incident face, the light incident face includes an irregular part formed continuously with the first sloped face forming an angle θa with respect to a plane of the light incident face, and the second sloped face forming an angle θb with respect to the plane of the light incident face, the angle θa is an angle of total-reflecting, on the light outgoing face, the light reflected on the first sloped face and getting incident into the light guide panel, out of the light emitted from the light source, even when a position of the light source is shifted along a direction separated from the light guide panel, and the angle θb is an angle of preventing the light emitted from the light source, from being reflected directly on the second sloped face to get incident into the light guide panel, even when the position of the light source is shifted along the direction separated from the light guide panel. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
