PRINTER CONTROL DEVICE, PAPER KIND DESIGNATING PRINTING PROGRAM, PAPER KIND DESIGNATING PRINTING METHOD, AND PRINTER APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out paper kind designating printing from a terminal unit installed with a printer driver not responding to a paper-kind designating printing function.

SOLUTION: A printer control device is used for controlling a printer apparatus so as to carry out printing processing according to a paper kind and provided with a designating means for designating the paper kind based on an operation of an operating means equipped to the printer apparatus. The printer control device instructs the printer apparatus to carry out printing processing based on printing data according to the paper kind designated by a designating means when it is determined contain paper kind designating information is contained in printing data obtained from a terminal unit connected with the printer apparatus through a communication pathway and also when it is determined that the printer driver cannot designate all the paper kinds supported by the printer apparatus.
