PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water pump for an internal combustion engine surely preventing water leak and enabling manufacturing at low cost. SOLUTION: This pump includes a pump body 5 including an impeller 2 which is driven and rotated, a cover case part 26 joined oppositely to the pump body 5 and forming a suction passage leading liquid to a suction side of the impeller 2, and a seal member 7 gripped between a joining part of the pump body 5 and a joining part of the cover case part 26. A discharge space including the impeller 2 is formed inside of the pump body 5, and a suction space is formed at the cover case part 26. A separator 10 dividing the suction space and the discharge space is provided and a part of the separator 10 is held in a gap space formed by two members out of the joining part 5J of the pump body 5, the joining part 26J of the cove case part 26, and a seal member 7.
