<p>Provided is an image forming apparatus wherein the problem of image failures due to the speed change of an intermediate transfer body, i.e., the speed change generated when a transfer material is removed from a secondary transfer nip section composed of a secondary transfer member and the intermediate transfer body, is solved. A loop is formed on the transfer material between the secondary transfer nip section and a fixing nip section such that the loop quantity of the transfer material between the secondary transfer nip section and the fixing nip section in the case of executing mono-color mode wherein an image is formed by having primary transfer rollers (50a-50c) separated from an intermediate transfer belt (51) is larger than the loop quantity of the transfer material between the secondary transfer nip section and the fixing nip section in the case of executing full-color mode wherein an image is formed by means of photosensitive drums (1a-1d).</p> |
