The bonnet (10) has a box cover (22) pivotable around a swiveling axis (24) running in a transverse direction. The cover closes a bonnet box (18) in a storage position of the bonnet and is partially covered by a rear bonnet edge (26) that is pivotable around another swiveling axis (30) in a closing position of the bonnet. An adjusting mechanism shifts the latter axis in front during pivoting the rear bonnet edge upwardly and lifting the rear bonnet edge by the cover. A support guide (34) is actuated by a directly or indirectly engaging hydraulic cylinder.
