<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To compare and display virtual endoscopy image data and MPR (multi-planar reconstruction) image data generated for a diagnosing target region. <P>SOLUTION: An ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus 100 generates the virtual endoscopy image data by setting a viewing point and a viewing direction on volume data acquired from a subject. A marker is disposed on the diagnosing target region of a lumen organ indicated in the virtual endoscopy image data to set an observing direction. Then, a reference line is set in the observing direction with the viewing point on the volume data as an origin. By comparing a voxel value of the volume data crossing the reference line with a prescribed threshold, a reference point where the surface of the diagnosing target region crosses the reference line is set to the volume data. Then, MPR image data is generated by extracting the voxels of the volume data corresponding to three MPR cross-sectional planes that are orthogonal to each other at the reference point and the obtained MPR image data is displayed together with the virtual endoscopy image data. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
