PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor built in a housing wherein it is possible to enhance stator cooling efficiency and reduce emission of motor vibration and motor noise to the outside. SOLUTION: A stator 41 placed on the inner circumferential surface of a housing 30 includes a stator core 44 formed by annularly arranging multiple core pieces with a stator coil 43 wound thereon, a stator holding part 45 fit and fixed on the outer circumferential surface of the stator core 44, and a water jacket 46 configured on the outer circumferential portion of the stator. In this motor/generator MG, the water jacket 46 is configured inside the stator holding part 45, the stator holding part 45 is fixed in an inner position distant in the direction of the motor shaft, and a clearance 56, 56 is formed between the inner circumferential surface of the housing 30 and the outer circumferential surface of the stator holding part 45.
