PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink-jet ink that shows excelling preservation stability and long-term recording stability and is used for forming a metal pattern, and to provide a metal-pattern forming method that uses the same. SOLUTION: The ink-jet ink is an ink used for a metal-pattern forming method to form a metal layer on a pattern by nonelectrolytic plating treatment after forming the pattern on a substrate, while discharging the ink by an ink-jet head, and the ink-jet ink contains a polymer compound having at least water, divalent palladium ions, and an acidic group.
