<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop an efficient treatment method for producing a monosaccharide from a cellulose-based biomass by a saccharifying amylase. <P>SOLUTION: The method for producing a monosaccharide from a cellulose-based biomass includes a first hydrothermal treatment process for heat-treating a cellulose-based biomass by first pressurized hot water, a solid-liquid separation process for separating a first hydrothermal treatment product obtained by the first hydrothermal treatment process into a soluble fraction and a solid residue, a second hydrothermal treatment process for heat-treating the solid residue by second pressurized hot water and an enzymatic saccharification process for saccharifying, by an enzyme, the soluble fraction and a second hydrothermal treatment product obtained by the second hydrothermal treatment process. The temperature of the second pressurized hot water is the temperature for improving enzymatic saccharification properties of the cellulose component in the cellulose-based biomass. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
