<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel consumption information providing device and a fuel consumption information providing method for allowing a driver to properly obtain the fuel consumption characteristic of a vehicle. Ž<P>SOLUTION: For each of a plurality of traveling control modes, a mode-specific fuel consumption state showing the fuel consumption state by an engine, is detected.
