<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery mounting structure which can efficiently install a plurality of batteries formed with handles on both ends of their upper surface, in a small space. Ž<P>SOLUTION: Construction machinery is provided with a rectangular battery mounting portion 1, and two batteries 2, 3 are accommodated in the battery mounting portion 1. The batteries 2, 3 are provided with the handles 2a, 3a on both ends in the longitudinal direction. In the battery mounting portion 1, the batteries 2, 3 face each other at their side surfaces provided with the handles 2a, 3a, the side surfaces facing each other are shifted by a predetermined distance in the horizontal direction, and the batteries 2, 3 are arranged diagonally to the walls C composing the battery mounting portion 1.
