<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily produce a decorative string of beautiful appearance widely usable in handicrafts, packaging, daily necessaries, accessories, etc., and to improve its practical value as well as its decorative effects. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The decorative string 11 includes: a core material 21 comprising a linear twisted paper; a covering material 31 including a Japanese-style decorative cord (Mizuhiki) spirally wrapped around the surface of the core material 21; and a thermofusible yarn 41 attached along the longitudinal direction of the core material 21 under the covering material 31 and to be melted after wrapping the covering material 31.
